Anyhow, I am rambling. About nothing. Another thing I am good at. One thing I am hoping this blog a day helps me do – FOCUS. But for today I think it will just be a random ramble about nothing.

I am very much looking forward to wedding season this year. I will be traveling to Banff, Edmonton, Fairview, Fahler, Mexico, Whitecourt and am very excited about it! All my brides this year are so fun and I can’t wait to see their wedding designs and ideas come to play! And the wedding dresses – OH i can’t wait! I am also very excited about my Weddings category for East vs West and the amazing dress R O O Y Couture is making for this shoot. Weddings weddings wedding! I never thought I would fall in love with weddings like I have! hehe. Love is in the air!!!

And speaking of weddings, my handsome husband and I will be celebrating 12 years together this May! Time sure flies. When we got married, our 10 year anniversary looked soooo far away and here we are now heading towards 20 years slowly!

Well…. I think this is enough for my blog today. Photos will be coming soon – the last few sessions I have had have been private and I haven’t been able to share them with you but soon some will come! Meanwhile, enjoy my ramblings? Or don’t? hehe.

Those of you may remember when I participated in the Five Alarm project last year.  Well that is still happening this year as well, but on top of that… Sean Trostem from Prairie Ranger Photography also got going a massive national project called East VS West.  It is presented by our Eastern Leader, Nick Gaines of Nick Gaines Photography and is bound to be SPECTACULAR.

Basically there are 9 photographers on each side, taking part in creating photos from 50 categories with their own interpretation.  Some of the fun categories are Twisted Fairy-tales, Lady Gaga, Religious Implications, Ninja’s in Everyday life and so many more!  I personally have 8 categories I am working on.  The 18 photographers on all sides are extremely talented and I am pretty excited to see what everyone comes up with.  You can visit their sites (if they have one) using the list below!  There are over 100 models involved, over 10 fashion designers and close to 30 make up and hair artists participating as well!

Here in Alberta, the show will be taking place from September 2nd, 2011 – September 30th, 2011 at the Center for Creative Arts in the Main Gallery,  with the “soft” opening night being September 2nd, 2011.  In the East the opening will be taking place Sept 17th, 2011.

Well, where to begin….

I didn’t do very well with a photo a day and lasted a little over 30 days…but in this challenge, I have decided to do it to help me expand my writing skills and find my “writing voice”.  I am often very jealous of other photographers out there (like my friend Katya Nova) who can not only capture such a beautiful moment with a camera, but then write about it so even if you didn’t see the photo you could envision the feeling, the composition, the setting in your mind.  I want to be able to create photos with my words, and not just with my camera.

Those who know me, know I talk a lot, but I talk about a million things, and not always in a concise manner.  I am hoping to take many of my thoughts, whether it be to do with a shoot I did and describe it, or just a random topic for the day and write about it like I did once upon a time as a teenager.

I don’t expect to make everyday, due to days when I’m traveling and may not have internet access, but with Word Press apps for the ipad, and the iphone and the fact I can log into my blog from any computer, there is less excuse unlike photo-a-day where I had to have the right cables to download an image, re-size it, upload it.

And so….welcome to my journey!  I hope from time to time I write something that excites you, or educates you, or something you can relate to, or something that you just laugh and go – hahaha…yep, that’s Candice for ya.
